What a treat it was to come across your little blog post and photo about Godmersham. I'm an amateur painter, in the USA, and I'm currently working on a painting of Godmersham, showing the church and bridge. I've got a little travel book dating from 1920 with tiny pencil drawings of various locations in Kent. That's my starting point. One of these days I really must come out and visit these places.
Thanks again.
We loved them all but especially the smoked cheese. We were so pleased to find the cheeses made with vegetarian rennet. We brought some back but are nearly out. Do you send it out to Essex? Would really love to buy some more because it is of such high quality.
Folks, this sounds like a great idea simply to walk the Pilgrim's Way and look at the churches. My sister and I walk most saturdays using a pub as a base and walking from there to explore the area. We often find ourselves attracted to places along the Pilgrim's Way. We have visited Hollingbourne, walked around Detling and Hucking, and hence down to the Pilgrims Way and have touched on it at other places. Just recently I have started blogging using our experiences in Kent. I will include places along the Pilgrim's Way as well as the year progresses. All the best for the walking! Such a pleasyre to stroll the hills and tracks around the famous way. My blog address is http://jamesapps-motorcyclistandcatlover.blogspot.com/
